About the trip / movie :
Second time in L.A. for us and as always, a great trip. We both enjoy the US a LOT, eventhough everyone's nuts and the country is lead by a moron... There's always stuff to see there, there's adventure everywhere...
We especially enjoyed the Ford Thunderbird V8 Convertible we had rented and driving around with the top down on Sunset Boulevard. We love american bars, american cars & women and the american way of life, but from a visitors point of view.
As I said lasttime, "L.A. is wack! Everything is so free-spirited and mellowed" and we had a lot of fun. This is, after all, the land were dreams are made.
E3 was okay, but it kinda looses it charms the second time 'round and it tends to become a real job, covering it. Make no mistake, making the movies for our editor at PC Gameplay was a lot of hard work.
This movie features our own perspective of the gamefair, so it's propably not for everyone... Here's the press-release :
OdB Productions (www.odbproductions.com) went to Los Angeles last May and made a movie about E3, for Benelux Gaming magazine PC Gameplay (www.pcgameplay.com) with loads of gaming footage and interviews with developers. That movie was released along with a DVD in the july edition.
Now, OdB has released their own version of the E3 visit, in old fashioned OdB Style.
The movie features a bum, some weird people, a Boothbabes Quiz (loads of boothbabes), the "Buy My Game" segment (developers plead to the "Average" gamer to buy their game), another bum, some goofing off in L.A. (including another bum) and SnoiD freestyle beatboxin' on Hollywood Boulevard.
Of all the games shown on E3, OdB concentrates on their own choice, F.E.A.R and HalfLife 2. The movie has two very long segments about both games (including a 6 minutes ingame footage of F.E.A.R) with interviews with Gabe Newell (Valve) and Chris Hewett (Monolith).
Music from the movie is from poor, unpublished artists such as Ghostriders and Illa.
