Again we attended the OCC Lan Party, this time the biggest edition in Belgium (about 1600 gamers), and made a coverage movie. This will be mostly for our Belgian viewers (its in Flemish).

We know the site is kinda quiet, but that doesnt mean we are ! We're preparing for our annual trip to the E3 extravaganza in L.A. next month... This year we'll be staying a whole week (yey!).
We did however, make a movie of OCC18, a local Lan BigG and me attend frequently. This will be mostly for our Belgian viewers (its in Flemish).

We, as a independent, free-lance (that means poor) movie-production team (duo) have to find our partners for each event we want to attend. If no-one wants to cough up the dough for plaintickets for us to go to an event, we cant go.
But, that's the way we always wanted to work, we never wanted to make concessions or sell us out to the highest bidder so that we could get paid, but no longer do our own thing. That's why we dont go to events every week.
This OCC18 movie is simply us having a bit of fun at a local event. |

Some info :
OdB went to the CPL UK Qualifier a few weeks ago, invited by the lovely chaps of Gamefrontier. On this event some of Europe's finest clans battled on the Counterstrike sneakin-and-a-campin-fields (I kid!) for a ticket to the CPL Winter 2004 Championships in Dallas.
There was also a major Painkiller Tournament from which the two top players could score a yearlong contract with Brittish topclan (and winners of the CS Qualifier) 4Kings.
The movie features interviews with 4Kings, French clan GoodGame (nice lads), the two Painkiller winners Zaccubus and Razorb, organiser Jaffer Mir (Gamefrontier), an executive from Dell and a very strange man that seemed to wander the hall without clear and defined purpose, G3X from Sogamed (funny dude though). As added bonus, SnoiD is wearing a lovely kilt, made by nimble scottish children. |

Hey chaps, just to let ya'll know that the movie was finished days ago and that we only are waiting on the 'ok' signal from the guys over at Game Frontier. They are in Dallas @ CPL winter atm, so communication is a little bit slower then ususal.

We're back from London, were the Gamefrontier CPL Qualifier for CPL Winter 2004 in Dallas was held. Great event, with a Painkiller tournament (from Intel), first time I saw one of those, a Byoc, a Battle For Middle Earth demo (played a lot, looks good...) and some weird English people.
London was great too, with christmassy balls 'n lights 'n stuff (but dont try to get a cab in the middle of the night on saturday, that dont fly).
BigG is editing the movie as we speak, expect the release real soon...

The lads from Game Frontier are having us over early december for the UK CPL Qualifier...

The Event The UK CPL Winter Qualifier will take place alongside the grand finale of Intel Extreme Edition Challenge 3 - 'Bloodline' Tournament and a 400 BYOC LAN event provided by Jolt.
The Venue is a prime location in the heart of London, boasting ample space and excellent facilities the Black island studios is the ideal venue for such an event.
Our CPL qualifier will take place over the weekend of Friday 3rd December to Sunday 5th December. Registration and the start of many games will be Friday evening.
So, looks like OdB is off on a trip again! |

Well, the Wu Tang rapper ODB anyway...
I guess it's no mystery to those that know us, that we got our name a few years ago from his... We always thought Old Dirty Bastards was a proper name for us, even back then when we were just a Quake3 2on2 clan.
He died from 'chestpains', totally un-RocknRoll you might say. Too bad, I always thought he would go due to an overdose of sex or drugs or something, damn shame. I'm sure he's looking down (or looking up propably) and can maybe crack a smile at all the misschief we will continu to do in his name...

Apparently there's a very wicked, nasty song in the Invexcup movie... Someone in #odb (on Quakenet) translated it for us as :
My [censored] is so nice u stick your [censored] in it...i lied on "tail bone" so stick him to me...when u buy a round u can lick my [censored]...when u buy me 2 rums u can [censored] me without [censored]...when u buy me brandy i show u [censored]...and for a frankfurter (hot dog) and drink u can [censored] me to [censored]...
(not sure what "tail bone" means tho)
Anyway, we don't speak Czech so sorry if anyone is offended by this song (but we're not releasing a 'clean' version).

We're back from Brno in the Czech Republic and man did we have fun. We've been treated like celebrities for a few days (not sure if we deserve it but it sure was nice).
The beer is practically free there so BigG boozed as much as a dried out rhino in a desert after eating chilipeppers. Czech people sure know how to party so we had a great time.
We wanna thank all the guys that hung out with us there (Rex, Vendul, Jimbean, Jacob... I know i'm forgetting some but you know who I mean) and hooked us up.
Let's wait a few days for BigG's hangovers to clear and then he'll get right on rendering and editing the movie. |

Next week OdB is on the road (or in the air) again, this time for an event in Brno (no idea how you say that) in the Czech Republic.
This is what Michal "Hobbys" Konicek from ProGamers told us about it : We are doing the Czech championship in computer games, representing a whole year of qualification tournaments, including online leagues, offline tournaments in our PG Cyber Cafe network and other big offline events like AMD PG Challenge.
This year there will be the national finals of Czech championship together with "Euro Cyber Cup", which will be Counter-Strike tournament for the 8 best european clans. Prizemoney 20.000 USD, fully invitational (transport and lodging payed).
We've never been to the Czech Republic, so we're definately going. We'll be there from wednesday to saturday, movie to follow. |
